A spring storm continued to hammer much of Wyoming on Friday, with heavy, wet snow, closing highways and bringing down tree branches
Most of Wyoming's mountainous areas have seen significant snow. Some areas of the high country received well over a foot of snow Wednesday through Friday.
Laramie and Cheyenne are among the hardest-hit cities, though the snow is melting almost as soon as it falls on some paved areas.
Interstate 80 remains partially or totally closed from Evanston to Cheyenne.
The National Weather Service expects the snow to taper off by Friday evening. Temperatures will remain around freezing before warming back into the 50s on Saturday.
The storm played havoc with both the Wyoming state high school soccer tournament in Sheridan and the state track meet in Casper, with the track meet suffering the most. Several events were postponed Thursday, leading to a jammed Friday schedule with the weather still windy, wet and cold.
