I never really paid much attention to the Wind River Visitors Council and how it spends the lodging tax money that it gets until reading your news coverage over the past month or two on how it is all being re-evaluated.
What surprised me most is that the person who runs the visitors council and leads all the decisions on how the money gets spent, also owns a company that gets to spend a lot of that money.
Without intending to cast any aspersions on the individual or individuals, just this arrangement by itself seems improper. If I am wrong about that, then I apologize, but I do believe that in other areas of government in tax spending, an arrangement like this would be considered questionable, wouldn't it?
I don't know what will happen from the visitor council board reconsidering this way of doing things.
Maybe nothing will need to be done. But I do agree that it is a good idea to at least examine it.
