Area fiber arts guild to display dozens of pieces in new showJun 14, 2015 From staff reports
The latest exhibit from the Fremont Fiber Arts Guild showcases more than just knitted sweaters.
The guild members have selected more than 60 pieces -- from horsehair hatbands to woven toy bears -- to display from June 15 to July 17 at the Frank B. Wise Business Plaza in Fort Washakie.
The guild will host a reception for the show from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 20. The event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be available.
All of the items in the exhibit were handmade by more than a dozen Fremont County artists who used only natural fibers in their construction.
The show includes quilts, shawls, hats, rugs, cat beds and yarn that were made by sewing, felting, knitting, twining, crocheting and spinning.
