Commission expects to spend more; attorney lessJun 19, 2015 From staff reports
Several county departments presented budget requests to Fremont County commissioners on June 10.
Most continued the trend of keeping spending in line with last year.
The county's fiscal year starts July 1, and final budgets must be approved before then.
- Fremont County Extension's proposed budget is $290,000 this fiscal year, up $10,000 from last year, including the purchase of a new $9,000 copier.
- The Fremont County Attorney's Office is asking for $1.49 million -- about $5,000 less than last year.
Fremont County Attorney Patrick LeBrun expects to have more expensive jury trials this year, but he has temporarily eliminated a secretary position.
- A draft budget for the Fremont County Commission shows almost $700,000 in spending, up from about $420,000 last year.
A major difference is $255,000 to start paying back the county's cash reserve for the cost of the new Riverton justice center.
