Former school trustee arrested on domestic violence chargeOct 2, 2015 By Katie Roenigk, Staff Writer
A former Dubois school trustee was arrested Sept. 14 after allegedly assaulting someone with an ink pen at her place of employment.
Heidi McStay, 34, of Dubois, was arrested for domestic violence battery and interfering/resisting arrest at about 3:15 p.m. Monday in the 5100 block of U.S. Highway 26 in Dubois. The initial call was regarding "issues with an employee." Officials said the reporting party was requesting a civil standby.
"While the deputy was en route, it escalated into a domestic violence incident," undersheriff Ryan Lee said.
The deputy did not witness the alleged assault, but Lee said there was probable cause for an arrest at the scene. McStay reportedly resisted the arrest.
"(It was) physical resistance, but nothing violence or that included any weapons," Lee said.
He added that the alleged victim did not require medical treatment.
McStay resigned from the Fremont County School District 2 Board of Trustees during a regular meeting March 17. She originally was elected to the board in November 2010 and was re-elected in November 2014. During her tenure she served as board clerk, legislative liaison to the Wyoming School Boards Association and area director for the Wyoming School Boards Association.
