Flags at half staff for 'Speed'Jan 21, 2016 From staff reports
Flags will fly at half-staff through the state Saturday in honor of Fremont County Fire Protection District deputy chief Clarence "Speed" Hartbank.
Hartbank died Jan. 13, 2016, at the Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. He had been transported to the hospital by air ambulance after suffering burns Sept. 10, 2015, while responding to a fire on Triangle Ranch Road northwest of Riverton. He received treatment for burns to 40 percent of his body.
Gov. Matt Mead ordered that United States and the State of Wyoming flags be flown at half-staffstatewide from sunrise to sunset Saturday to honor Hartbank, who served the FCFPD for 45 years.
Martbank's memorial service is Saturday afternoon at Wind River High School in Pavillion.
