Rams beat Midwest, 56-48

Jan 11, 2017 By Randy Tucker, Staff Writer

Dubois prevailed in a physical, foul-filled contest.

Dubois picked up its second win of the year in a brutal game on Friday at Midwest, 56-48.

The Rams went to the free-throw line 32 times in the contest, as the Oilers fouled away throughout the game.

Dubois jumped to a double-digit lead early in the game on the play of Sean Mock, Kyle Eulberg and Wade Beavers.

The trio hit quickly on close-range shots, and Beavers hit the Ram's only 3-pointer on his first shot of the game.

Midwest's physical play slowed Dubois in the second, as they hit only a pair of baskets in the period and the Oilers were able to close to seven by the half.

The second half was an exchange of baskets, but Dubois had the luxury of the early lead and played shot-for-shot with the Oilers for the remainder of the game.

Eulberg paced the Rams with 18 points, with Beavers just behind with 17.

Dubois entertains Arapahoe Charter on Friday and a very talented Wind River junior varsity on Saturday.

The Rams host St. Stephen's to open conference play the following Friday, then travel to Ten Sleep the next afternoon.
