Dubois teen to perform with Wyoming Symphony after award-winning workFeb 12, 2017 From staff reports
Seventeen-year-old Camille Barnes of Dubois won the Young Artist solo competition put on by the Wyoming Symphony.
She auditioned by audio last October, and was selected as one of 6 finalists in November. The six finalists performed in front of an audience and three judges.
Camille was selected the winner on Jan. 22 and received $1000 plus a performance with the Wyoming Symphony on their April 29 concert.
Camille started the violin at age 4 with Rebecca Murdock, director of Wyoming Suzuki String School, and has studied with her since that time.
Her first solo appearance with the FSO was at age 4 performing "Twinkle." She became a member of FSO when she was 10.
"Camille is one of those fantastic students that works very hard," Murdock said. "I am very proud of her accomplishment."
