A 56-year-old Riverton man was found dead in his home Sunday in the 900 block of West Park Avenue.

Authorities apprehended a suspect, 27-year-old Florin Brandon Wyatt, who had fled the scene in the victim's car.

Wyatt has been charged with second-degree murder.

The initial call was placed at 11:10 a.m. Sunday by the victim's neighbor who, was concerned that the man had not been seen since Thursday.

"Pretty quickly we realized that his vehicle was missing," Riverton Police Capt. Eric Murphy said. "We got a name of a possible suspect. We started looking for the vehicle and the male suspect who is is in 20s...with some technology that we have, we found out that he was in the Cheyenne area."

The Wyoming Highway Patrol located and found Wyatt in the vehicle belonging to the deceased man at a rest stop on I-80 outside of Cheyenne headed toward Nebraska.

Due to the "complexity of the crime scene," the RPD called in The Wyoming State Crime Lab. Investigators arrived in Riverton Sunday night and are still looking into the incident.

An autopsy will be performed Wednesday in Loveland, Colorado.
