Raven Teaha Dawn White Clay died Wednesday, June 21, 2017, in Billings, Montana. She was 26 years old.

She was born on Feb. 8, 1991 to Franklin and Rebekah White Clay in Riverton.

At age 1, her grandfather, Philip White Clay, bestowed her Crow name, "She Who Walks A Good Path."

She was raised in Lander, and in the Black Lodge area of the Crow Reservation. She was a member of the Big Lodge Clan and a child of the Big Lodge.

She received her early education in Lander where she played junior high basketball and was member of the FFA. She graduated from Hardin (Montana) High School in 2010.

She took a job at the River Crow Trading Post, where she met Joshua LaForge. They were married in Lander. From this union, three children were born.

She spent a lot of days with her grandmother who taught her a great deal about gardening, botany and about life. Her time in Lander also strengthened her relationship with her uncle Hans and the Armajo family.

She worked as a manager at a local retail store and In 2015, she returned to the Crow Reservation with her daughter.

Family members said she enjoyed riding horses, trips to the mountains, hunting "and her uuga."

She is survived by her daughter, Lena Grace LaForge; her parents, Franklin "Boss" and Rebekah White Clay; sisters Dusty (Kanasa) Gaddy, Hannah and Anna Ten Bear, Ezra Mae, Chantell, Nancie, Jamie (Landon), Michelle Lucree, Holly (Chad), Miranda (Eric) Whit Clay, Peggy (Thomas) Ceasley, Celisa, Veranda (Tylen) Jefferson, Vinnett (Justin) Flores, Rhea (Phileo) Little Light, Trish (Terrance) Beatty, Jade (Chaz) Bends, Diana (Felix) Thompson, Stormie and Elauna Nelson, Kesha (Tim) Martel, Kelli, Lauran and McKenzie Redding; brothers Logan, Thomas (Michelle), Frank (Jade), Delbert (Michelle), Burney, Ramsey and Jezreel White Clay, Jeremy (Jessica) and James (Roberta) Jefferson, Levi (Aliki), Micheal (KK) Kendal, Boden Redding; adopted brother Owen St. Clair Jr.; extended families of Redding, Arnold, Bradshaw, Seig, Close, Jeffers, Boden, House, Big Medicine, Three Irons, Black Eagle, White Clay, Stewart, Armajo, Morning, Pretty Eagle, Iron Man, Fox, Stiff Arm, Bradley, Cauliflower and Guardipee, Fozeer, Nicol and Rogers.

She was preceded in death by children Alma and Nikoli LaForge; uncles Jack, Kelly and Erin Redding, Monty Ray and Philip White Clay Jr.; grandfathers Arthur Redding and Philip White Clay Sr.; and her grandmother Vera Ann House-White Clay.
