Sharon Rae Thayer of Fort Washakie died Monday, July 17, 2017, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. She was 61years old.

She was born Feb. 26, 1956, in Cristobal, Canal Zone, Panama, and is the daughter of Alberta St. Clair-Friday and Jerry Thayer.

She was a life-long resident of Fort Washakie and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was employed at Fort Washakie School as a paraprofessional.

She is survived by her mother, Alberta Friday; children Andrea Coando, Britney Christian and Miracle Spoonhunter, Fincillius "Finny" Burnett, Heto Thayer and Singing Brook Willow; sisters Julie (John) Kutch, Joette Thayer and Arlene Oldman; brothers John (June) Friday and Western "Gus" Thayer; aunt, Merle Haas; uncle, Orville St. Clair; and the Thayer, Ballard, Hernandez, and Teran families.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Thayer; daughter, Deanne "Tyvones" Coando; sons Baby Burnett and Baby Shoyo; maternal grandparents, Herman and Daisy St. Clair; paternal grandparents, Charlie and Ina Thayer; nephews Ryan and Kennard "Bird" Burnett; grandchildren Javon Tillman and Shondell Loneman; and family members Douglas St. Clair, Lavida, Joyce, Wyoma Ballard, Jeffrey Brown and Mike Hernandez.

A wake will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at 164 North Fork Road in Fort Washakie. Traditional Indian services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, at the family home, with burial at the Sacajawea cemetery. A feast will be held after the funeral at Rocky Mountain Hall.
