Joseph Robert "Bob" Lane, age 69, passed away June 23, 2017, in Grand Forks, N.D. Bob was born on September 9, 1947, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Clyde Monroe Lane and Betty Jo Wagers Cheek. When he was five years old, the family moved to Riverton. He attended St. Stephen's School, Ashgrove Elementary, Riverton Middle School and Riverton High School, graduating in 1966. Following graduation he joined the U.S. Navy on May 1, 1967 and was honorably discharged on January 11, 1973. He was a Vietnam veteran.

After his naval service, Bob moved back to Riverton and was a police officer with Riverton Police Department where he retired in 1977. He moved to Grand Forks, N.D. in 1991 and became a groundskeeper for the Grand Forks Park District. He retired from the Park Department in 2013.

Mr. Lane had been a member of the V.F.W., Elks, Eagles and Jaycees. He enjoyed

fishing, playing pool and darts, arrowhead hunting, rock hunting, and big game

hunting. He loved attending sporting events and was a big fan of Fleetwood Mac.

On August 21, 1971, he married Judy Lynn Jones in Riverton. Two daughters, Talah and Ashley came from that union. They later divorced.

Survivors include daughters, Talah Crenshaw (Tony Wlodarczyk) of Riverton, Ashley (Adam) Pinneo of Hockley, Texas, grandchildren Jayde Crenshaw, Kristian Monroe, Stephen Bussiere, Michael Bussiere, and Thea Pinneo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, former wife Judy, grandfather Bob Wagers, grandmother Thelma Wagers, aunt Bess Ann Holt-PettiJohn, and aunt Beverly Green.

At his request, cremation has taken place and no services were held.

Memorials can be made to the family in care of his daughters.
