Nov 20, 2013 - By Kelli Ameling, Staff WriterTracy Cook will become Fremont County's library system director. She accepted the county library board's offer Tuesday afternoon.
During a special meeting Tuesday, the library board met in Lander to consider offering the job to Cook, who is from Montana.
During the meeting, the board entered into a short executive session with the search committee before coming out to make the motion.
Board member Kevin Tippets, of Riverton, moved to extend the offer to Cook, with vice chairwoman Jackie Meeker seconding the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
Cook's anticipated start date is Dec. 9.
During the special meeting, the Fremont County Library Board also approved opening the Riverton Library from noon until 4 p.m. on Dec. 8 for students to study.
"This is a wonderful (resource) we provide to the community," Newton said.
