The Lander Valley High School girls basketball team salvaged the weekend with a 57-37 victory Saturday night over Glenrock night at Bob Carey Memorial Fieldhouse.
Worland seized control of the season opener Friday night with strong second and third quarters to post a 63-47 victory against LVHS.
The game was the first for Lander at the two-day Lander Invitational.
Lander went on to fall to Douglas 68-53 on Saturday morning.
Douglas is coming off a runner-up finish last year at the Class 3-A state tournament and is a favorite to compete for a state title this year.
Douglas outlasted Lyman 50-48 in two overtimes in one of the most exciting games of the invitational.
The Tigers play Green River on Tuesday in another home game at the fieldhouse.

Lander's Keeley Garvin scored the first four points of the game, but the speedy guard was called for her second foul at the 5:13 mark and headed to the bench.
The Tigers took a 10-6 cushion on a field goal by Drew DeKing and seemed to be in control at 15-6 after the first quarter.
But the start of the second quarter belonged to Worland. The visiting team deadlocked the score at 15-15 and took its first lead of the game at 17-15.
Worland had a 26-21 advantage at halftime.
The Warrior girls kept the offensive charge going in the third quarter. Lander finally trimmed the lead to 35-34 on a free throw by Keesha Rowan.
The key run by Worland came after being ahead 37-36.
Worland ran off 14 unanswered points to go up 51-36 and put the game out of reach.
Rowan had back-to-back 3-pointers to pull Lander within 57-45 with four minutes left in regulation.
Garvin led Lander in scoring with 16 points. Rowan added 13. Deja Jones put in 10 points.
