Apr 6, 2012 - StaffChelsey Nicole Porter and Skyler Mont Minner were married Nov. 17, 2011, at United Methodist Church in Riverton. The Rev. Mark Thurmond officiated the ceremony attended by family and close friends.
The newlyweds were high school sweethearts at Riverton High School, where they graduated with the class of 2011. The bride is the daughter of Betty Porter and Chad Porter, of Riverton. She is the granddaughter of the late Glen and Luella Weiss and Pat and Sue Porter and Judy Porter. She is attending Toni and Guy's Hair Design Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The bridegroom is on active duty with the United States Army. He graduated in the top of his class as a 13 Bravo member of the field artillery. He is the son of Cindy Minner, of Riverton, and Kerry and Heather Ecton, of Thornton, Colo. His grandparents are Harold and Patty Minner, of Riverton.
The bride wore a white, beaded wedding dress with a matching diamond head piece. She wore her great-grandmother's pearls and carried her bible and a bouquet of white lilies. She was escorted down the aisle by her father and was given in marriage by both her parents.
Maids of honor were Courtney Porter, of Denver, and Kayla Crandall, of Riverton. Both are sisters of the bride.
The bridegroom wore his full military dress blues. His best men were his uncle, Mike Minner, and his brother, Brandon Carver. Both are from Riverton.
A wedding reception followed at the Sundowner Station in Riverton, featuring wedding cake, toasts and a traditional first dance by the newlyweds.
