Fremont County law enforcement and search and rescue officials are looking for a 32-year-old man who was reported overdue Monday from a gold panning trip in eastern Fremont County.

The man's parent called to report the missing person at about 9:45 p.m. Monday.

The 32-year-old had told others that he was scheduled to return home at about 4:30 p.m.

His wife said he had left the house at noon.

He is not believed to have any medical or mental conditions that would have affected his return under normal circumstances, but his mobile telephone had been shut off for more than 48 hours as of Monday evening.

When last seen, he reportedly was driving a 2011 or 2012 four-door Chevrolet pickup truck with Montana license plates and a topper with a ladder rack.

Verizon said his phone coordinates showed he was south of the Copper Mountain cell tower.
