Dec 26, 2013 - StaffBaudie "Pete" Romero, formerly of Riverton, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at his home in Gordonville, Texas, surrounded by family. He was 81 years old.
A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Riverton. A rosary will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at St. Margaret's Catholic Church.
Baudie Romero was born Jan. 15, 1932, in Trinidad, Colo., the son of Leo and Rosie (Gerone) Romero.
On May 25, 1954, he married the love of his life, Roberta Mae Henderson, in Riverton.
He served in the Wyoming National Guard as a sergeant, and he was a painter, surveyor and cowboy.
He was of the Catholic faith.
His family said he was an amazing husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his children, Lane and Viola Romero of Elk City, Okla., Joy and Josette Romero of Sherwood Shores, Texas, Elaine and Jeff Calhoun of Sherwood Shores, Texas, Doris Romero of Sherwood Shores, Texas, Trinie and Greg Tate of Sherwood Shores, Texas, Sheree and Cairl Tims of Sherwood Shores, Texas; brother LeRoy Romero of Riverton; sisters Esther Downey of Shoshoni, Margie Allington, Mary Romero and Annie Saunders of Riverton; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; honorary daughter JJ; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his love, Roberta Romero; son Jimmy Leo Romero; grandson Stevie Martin; parents Leo and Rosie Romero; and four brothers.
