Dec 26, 2013 - StaffArlene B. Dean, formerly of Kinnear, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, in Florida, after an extensive medical condition and illness. She was 68 years old.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Russell Haven of Rest in Green Cove Springs, Fla., with a visitation from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Arlene B. Dean was born July 7, 1945, in Coalville, Utah.
On Oct. 26, 1963, she married Norman Dean in Evanston, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in October.
The couple raised their two children in Fremont County, where Mrs. Dean taught at Wind River High School in Pavillion.
In 1987, the couple moved to Jacksonville, Fla., to follow their daughter, Stephanie.
Mrs. Dean continued her career in education in Florida where she was a pre-kindergarten assistant. Her family said she loved the challenge of teaching children with special needs. She retired in July 2008.
Her family said she was loved by every person she met. She was a sweet, gentle and caring person who always placed everyone's priorities before hers. They said she enjoyed fishing and playing cards with her husband, scrapbooking and shopping with her daughter, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Norman; daughter Stephanie Willenbrecht; son Scott Dean; and grandchildren Derek Willenbrecht, Peyton Dean, McKenna Dean, Weston Dean and Cooper Dean.
Arrangements are under the care of Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery in Green Cove Springs, Fla.
