Dana J. Eagle died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, in Riverton. He was 36 years old.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church with Father Phil Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery in St. Stephen's. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Great Plains Hall with a wake to follow.

Dana James Eagle was born Feb. 1, 1977, in Riverton, the son of Clement Eagle Sr. and Mary Edith Whiteman. He was raised by his aunt Leanna Sitting Eagle and his sister Josephine Sitting Eagle.

He attended school at St. Stephen's.

His family said he enjoyed drawing, powwows, hanging out with relatives and friends, and playing football and basketball.

He is survived by his parents, Linus Sitting Eagle, Leanna Sitting Eagle and Reva SunRhodes; sons Avery Eagle, Ward Spoonhunter, Isiah Spoonhunter and Shadow Eagle; brothers Clement Eagle Jr., Michael Gould Jr., Perry Gould Sr., Shawn Washington, Truman Sitting Eagle, Lincey Sitting Eagle Jr., Gerald Sitting Eagle, Francis Sitting Eagle, Leroy Sitting Eagle, Issac Sitting Eagle, Frank Sitting Eagle, Steven Eagle Jr., Sam Wilson, Jesse Monroe, Clinton Monroe Jr., and Aloysious Sitting Eagle; sisters Josephine Sitting Eagle, Nia Washington, Pauline Sitting Eagle, Jennifer Sitting Eagle, Jessica WhitePlume, Nellie Sitting Eagle, Sara Wilson, Medalia Sitting Eagle, Wanda Eagle, Stephanie Eagle and Lithia Monroe; uncles Gerald Sitting Eagle, George H. Sitting Eagle Sr., Silas Sitting Eagle, Ronald Oldman, Melvin Oldman and Joseph Oldman Sr.; and aunts Dorothy Sitting Eagle, Susan Sitting Eagle, Victoria Sitting Eagle, Lucy Harris and Susan Villa.

He was preceded in death by Clement Eagle Sr., Anthony and Odella Sitting Eagle, Joseph Sr. and Mertle Oldman, Dale Eagle Sr., George G. Sitting Eagle, Lena Sitting Eagle, William Sitting Eagle, Steven Sitting Eagle Sr., Letticia Sitting Eagle, Felicia Sitting Eagle and Linda Sitting Eagle Revere.
