Jan 2, 2014 - StaffMoeniqa Produit, formerly of Riverton, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013. She was 18 years old.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at Blue Sky Hall with a wake to follow. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at Blue Sky Hall with the Rev. Patricia Bergie officiating. Burial will follow at the Hudson Cemetery.
Moeniqa Diane Produit was born Jan. 20, 1995, in Great Falls, Mont., the daughter of Raymond Produit Jr. and Stacy Marie Wilcox.
She was an enrolled member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe, and her given Indian name was Biixounou, which means Eagleplume.
Shortly after she was born she moved to Riverton with her parents. She attended schools in Riverton until she was 16 years old when she moved to Kemmerer to live with her father, stepmother, brother and sister. She graduated from Kemmerer High School in May 2013. She attended the University of Wyoming with plans of becoming a social worker and counselor to help young kids.
Her family said she was a loving, caring, high-spirited young woman. She loved the outdoors, shopping, basketball, cooking and learning to cook new foods. She played the piano and the flute for the school band. She also loved to help people, and hang out with her friends and animals (especially the family cat, Sunshine). Above all, she loved her brother, sisters and all of her family.
She is survived by her mother, Stacy Wilcox; father Raymond Produit Jr.; stepmother Crystal Produit; grandmother Caroline Produit; grandparents Merlaine and Jesus Anchondo and Brenda and John Allen; sisters Serenity Produit, Adrienne Allen and Holly Allen; brother Michael Grimes; aunts Ramona Produit, Lisa Amos and Sally Wilcox; uncles Virgil Amos, Robert Produit and Rex Amos; cousins Jacob Boyer, Jada Boyer, Yeva Produit, Wesley Amos, Melody Hendrickson, Phillip Hendrickson, Chelsea Hendrickson, Savanna Hendrickson, Carrie Clark, Shawn Carrie Clark and Bernice Helms; and numerous other cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Michelle Allen; grandfather Raymond Produit Sr.; cousins Kay Johnson, Herschel Amos and Holly Trosper; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
