Jan 6, 2014 - From staff reportsPlans for the 2014 Wyoming State Winter Fair in Lander are progressing, with preparations this year ahead of the typical schedule.
After a period of uncertainty, the Winter Fair is on stable ground for 2014, and new events are being added to the lineup.
Vendor applications for the Winter Fair trade show have been sent out earlier than usual to all 2013 vendors, along with a new incentive for them. All vendors who submit their applications by Jan. 14 will have their booth names advertised in the Winter Fair brochure.
All booth prices have been kept at the same rate, based on past exhibitor comments. The early bird discount is being offered to exhibitors who have their applications and fees submitted by Feb. 8.
Anyone needing an application form may call Marlene Young at 332-4011.
The Winter Fair board again has scheduled a full slate of events at the Lander Old Timers Rodeo Arena, including miniature bull riding March 1, followed by the annual horse show March 2.
A new event in the planning stage is the ranchers rodeo, which will take place Feb. 28. All of these events are at the LOTRA.
"The board thanks the numerous persons who have come aboard to help with the fair by showing great interest in this big event," Young said.
For more information on LOTRA events, call Koni at 438-0242 or 332-2437.
Correction: This story should have said, "Anyone needing an application form may call Marlene Young at 332-4011." The correction was made Jan. 14.
