Jan 7, 2014 - By Bruce Tippets, Sports EditorCentral Wyoming College Rustlers women's basketball coach Serol Stauffenberg knows it's must for his players to have a short-term memory after a 71-46 loss to Western Wyoming Community College Saturday night in Rock Springs.
The Rustlers host Gillette College on Wednesday night and Little Big Horn College Friday night in a pair of conference games.
The Rustlers are 0-3 in league play. Western is 3-0 in conference play and 14-3 overall.
"Western is a talented and athletic team," Stauffenberg said. "Western has a nose for the ball. They do all the little things to win games."
Gillette College is up to a 2-1 conference mark and stands at 14-3 overall.
CWC lost to Dawson Community College in its first home region game last month.
"We need to get a region win and to defend at home better than we did against Dawson," Stauffenberg said.
The Rustlers will be facing a matchup zone defense against Gillette College.
"The new look is always challenging," Stauffenberg said. "They are long and athletic."
Little Big Horn College stands at 0-1 in conference play at 7-7 overall.
