The Central Wyoming College Rustlers basketball teams recorded a doubleheader sweep Friday night vs. Little Big Horn College at Rustler Gym in Riverton. The CWC women ran over Little Big Horn 80-54 for the first Region IX sub-region win of the season. The Rustlers are now 1-4 in conference play. In the men's game, the Rustlers took a 79-68 win to snap a two-game region losing streak. CWC now plays region opponent Northwest College on Wednesday night in Powell. The Rustlers return home Saturday, Jan. 18, hosting Casper College in a doubleheader at Rustler Gym. Start times are 3 p.m. for the women and 5 p.m. for the men. CWC women 80, Little Big Horn 54 The difference maker in the first game of Friday's doubleheader was CWC aggressiveness on offense. CWC drilled 11 3-pointers in the victory and was 27-39 from the free throw line. In the 3-point department, Jolanna Sazue and Kendra Falsley recorded three apiece. At the free-throw line, Sazue hit 7-10 on her way to 22 points. Teammate McKenley Helstern was 9-12 at the stripe to finish with 15 points. Tina Hosea added 11 points to round out the double-figure scoring. CWC men 79, Little Big Horn 68 CWC's Ryan Nemelka had the hot shooting hand on his home floor. The shooting guard put down four big 3-pointers and was 12-13 from line on to drop in 24 points in the victory. Nemelka played 26 minutes of the game's 40 minutes. After Nemelka's team-high points, Daryl Morgan Jr. put 18 in the scorebook. Morgan yanked in 13 rebounds for the double-double effort. He was credited with six offensive rebounds and seven defensive. Matt Johnson had 10 points. CWC won the rebounding department 45-36.
