Jan 14, 2014 - StaffBrian Francis Willow Sr., of Ethete, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, in Casper. He was 49 years old.
A visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Blue Sky Hall. The visitation will follow overnight in the family home at 87 Lone Bear Lane in Ethete. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at Blue Sky Hall.
Brian Francis Willow Sr. was born Dec. 6, 1964, in Riverton, the son of Richard G. Willow and the late Gloria Jean Bell Willow. Growing up, his siblings included brothers Tony, Duane, Darren Willow, Ferlon B. Willow Sr., Ronnie Haukaas, Dave, Duane, Daniel and Darrell Bell, and sisters Clina Longtime Sleeping (Melvin), Nora Freland (David), Yvondra Buffalo (Nader), Bonita Bell, Ramona Underwood (Jerome), Lynette Bell, Mary Leyva and Cathy Ute.
He attended Mill Creek Elementary in Ethete, Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota and Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kan.
He was employed with Northern Arapaho Housing as a laborer and also worked as a seasonal firefighter, truck driver and asbestos cleaner.
On Sept. 19, 1985, he married Georgia Stewart in Sasakwa, Okla.
His family said he enjoyed reading books, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.
He is survived by Georgia Willow, Gloria Willow (Abe), Tiffany, Brian Jr. Shane, Bridger Willow, Lionel Wallowing Bull, Rick Willow, Dexter WallowingBull, Ferlon Willow Jr., Juwan Willow and Megan Willow; grandchildren Dessirae and Keontay Willow, Tinikki, Zachary and Persephone, Damon Willow and Athena Duran; aunts Flora and Cora Willow, Mary Florence Bell, Darlene Bell, Pamela Brown, Georgine Brown, Mary Sounding Sides, Brenda Brown, Tena Brown, Vanessa Posey, Rhonda Bell and Zelma Bell and family; uncles Edward, Floyd and Leo Willow, Dale, Clarence, Shannon and Alvin Brown, Leo Brown Jr., Martin Brown Sr., Ervin Brown Jr. and Kevin Brown; sundance grandfathers Alfred Redman Sr., Duane Bell Sr., Gary Bell, Al Bell, Jake Bell and Tyrone Bell; grandparents Zedora Enos, Doris Wagon and family, Virginia Antelope and family, and Star Weed and family; brother Ron Haukaas; sisters Cathy Ute and Georgette Acebo and parents Ron Haukaas and Beatrice Haukaas; and cousins Darrell, Duane Jr., Dave, Daniel, Mary and Lynnete Bell, Jermaine, Luke Destry, Issac, Agnes and DebraAnn Bell.
He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Dammon Willow; brothers Ronnie Willow, George Willow, Ben and Ed Sounding Sides, Robert Willow and Jerome Bell; grandparents Richard A. Willow, Clina B. Willow, Tiffany and Ed Wesaw, Josie Washakie, Edna (Wesaw) Bell, Francis, Ambrose, Fred, Franklin, Leo and Georgie Brown; uncles Gary, Ivan and Lamont Brown; and niece Diana Sounding Sides.
