Feb 7, 2012 - StaffFormer Lander resident Katha J. Davis, 78, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, in Santa Fe Springs, Calif.
Memorial services were Monday, Jan. 16, at the Hillside Chapel in California. Burial followed Monday, Jan. 23, at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif.
Katha June Jones was born June 23, 1933, in LaJunta, Colo., to Burette and Rmelda (Seley) Jones. She graduated from Fremont County Vocational High School in Lander in 1951.
On Sept. 30, 1950, she married William Dalton "Bill" Davis in Lander. They had three children -- Frank, Bonita and Cindy.
Mr. Davis died June 14, 1984.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and beautician.
Her family said she enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, spending time with her family and friends, including longtime friends, Shirley Hess and Jack.
Survivors include her daughter, Bonita Williams; sisters Ethel Eversole and husband Bill of Riverton and Jenny Garcia of Laramie; sister-in-law Betty Jo (Bramman) Iturrian and husband Felix of California; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Frank and a daughter Cindy.
