Feb 3, 2014 - StaffRonald Snyder Sr., of Ethete, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. He was 84 years old.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Rocky Mountain Hall in Fort Washakie. Burial was in the Mill Creek family cemetery.
Ronald Snyder Sr. was born April 9, 1929, in Fort Washakie, the son of Ben and Nancy V. (Long) Snyder.
He married his wife, Shirley Ann Birdstail, in Lander.
Mr. Snyder served in the Korean War as a pilot. He worked Construction for Brazel & Sims, Gilpatrick Companies, drove semis and built the Wyoming Indian High School in Ethete.
His family said he loved fishing, hunting, camping, hiking in the mountains and being around his family.
He is survived by his three sisters, Ada Breedlove, Nancy Miller and Katherine Ferris; sons Ronald Jr. and Roy Snyder (Tom Borden); daughters Joy Hiser, Nancy Snyder, Ada Snyder and Lonna Snyder; and grandchildren Jack and Shadow Guina, Jessica (Patrick) Mansfield, Amanda Snyder, Stephanie Snyder, Felicia (Tim) Wesaw, Brittney Snyder, Brandon and Tristan Andson, Christian Hiser, Ceclia, Eric, Amber and Leander Snyder Eugene Snyder, Mindy Snyder and Travis Snyder.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Robert Snyder; brothers Ben Snyder Sr. and Sam Snyder; and half brother Roy J. Snyder.
Services are under the direction of Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander.
