Feb 11, 2014 - StaffA water line break Tuesday closed Fremont County School District 24 in Shoshoni.
School was canceled for the day.
Superintendent Tammy Cox said students were sent home either by bus or were picked up by parents.
Routine maintenance checks on the town's wells showed a malfunction, Cox said. All businesses in town were contacted and notified of the issue.
City crews were looking into the town's main water system Tuesday afternoon. Cox said she would decide later Tuesday if classes would resume Wednesday.
By 1 p.m., Shoshoni town officials said they were running water from another well in town, but they eventually will have to shut all wells to fix whatever caused the breakage.
Town officials said drinking water for the town was not affected by the break.
