Two from county win medals at Ron Thon

Riverton's Koa Rodriguez and Dubois wrestler Rowan Hawk each won a third-place medal in the junior varsity division of the Ron Thon Memorial Invitational on Saturday in Riverton.

Rodriguez claimed his medal in the 160-pound weight division. Hawk placed at 170 pounds. A pair of Douglas of wrestlers were in the top two spots. Trevor McReynolds won the title, and teammate Chance Dutcher finished second.

Jose Gonzales of Wyoming Indian finished fifth in the heavyweight division.

The early rounds of the junior varsity division were held at the Riverton Middle School gym

The tournament was moved over to Wolverine Gym for the junior varsity title matches.

Riverton and Lander square off on Thursday night at Bob Carey Memorial Fieldhouse.

The middle school wrestlers open the event at 4 p.m.

Junior varsity is set for 6 p.m., followed by the varsity wrestlers.
