Second Amendment rights infringement needs corrected

Feb 14, 2014 - Jack Gordon, Dubois

Editor:

Who is Steve Barlow? According to a story in the Jan. 18 issue of The Ranger, Mr. Barlow is the Central Wyoming College campus safety director. The story further enlightens us to the fact that Mr. Barlow had administrative authority to infringe on our Second Amendment rights.

Somehow, I forgot to remember ever voting for, hiring, vetting, anointing, or in any way abrogating my Second Amendment rights to a non-law enforcement state employee or, for that matter, to a college employee anywhere in this state.

My previous hope had been in the last legislative session that HB 105 would have borne fruit and this defect in state law corrected. As such was not the case, I ardently request that our legislators undertake a mission to correct this significant assault on our Second Amendment rights.

Don't you find it disconcerting that our gun-banning neighbors to the south, in Colorado, protected their citizens' rights on Colorado college campuses while Wyoming has not?
