Tribe meeting to address possible resolution change
Feb 17, 2014 - From staff reports
The Northern Arapaho Tribe will have public meetings Tuesday and Thursday to discuss a proposed change to General Council Resolution 6663.
The change would increase the tenure of business council and entertainment committee members from a two-year term to a four-year, staggered term.
On Nov. 23, the Northern Arapaho General Council chose to put the proposed resolution up to a referendum vote on a ballot.
The date of the vote for the amendment also will be discussed at the public meetings. The meeting Tuesday will be at Blue Sky Hall in Ethete, and the meeting Thursday will be at Great Plains Hall in Arapahoe. The meetings will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day.
The public is invited to attend, ask questions and voice any concerns.
Business council and entertainment committee seats will be open this year for the primary election in October and the general election in November.
