Legislators who backed SF104 ought to impeach themselves

Feb 17, 2014 - Evelyn Black, Riverton

Editor:

The Wyoming Constitution is the supreme governing document of the State of Wyoming. It is the law. Proposed amendments must be approved by a majority of the voters in a general election. The Wyoming Supreme Court ruled SF104 to be illegal!

A high crime has been committed. All elected representatives and senators who voted for SF104, and the governor, who signed it, violated the oath of office.

Article 3 Sec. 18, Wyoming Constitution: "The governor and other state and judicial officers ... shall be liable to impeachment for high crimes and misdemeanors, or malfeasance in office." Malfeasance is defined as the commission of an act that is illegal, an act that gives rise or contributes to injury of another person. An affirmative act.

Who can impeach? (Article 3 Sec 17) "The sole power of impeachment shall be vest in the house of representatives; the consensus of the majority ... " A crime has been committed ,and the majority of the house of representatives voted for SF 104. Will the voters for SF 104 impeach themselves, gather their belongings, and leave permanently?

The Wyoming Attorney General is appointed by the governor, and he is working to get prior the justices' decision turned around. Could be a different judge.

Our hands are not tied. We can (1) pray daily that God will intervene and the justices will uphold the Constitution, or (2) cross all running for re-election who voted for SF 104 from your list, and the governor.

Four of six Fremont County Legislators, voted for SF 104. Three of them are up for re-election. Let's put some "real republicans" in office who will uphold the Constitution.

There is no black-and-white evidence against Cindy Hill, but there is black-and-white evidence against those who voted for SF 104.
