Tamra Ward died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at her home surrounded by family. She was 54 years old.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor David Magruder officiating.
Tamra Irene McMillan was born Nov. 2, 1959, in Riverton, the daughter of Neil "Mac" and Shirley Jean (Ahlbrandt) McMillan. She spent her life in Riverton and graduated from Riverton High School in 1977.
On May 6, 1978, she married Doyle Ray Ward. Together they raised three children, Tristan, Brandon and Preston.
She worked as the executive director of Wyoming Senior Citizens Inc for 24 years. Her family said she had a passion and love to help seniors.
They said she enjoyed golfing, reading, quilting, cooking, camping and going to Mexico. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Doyle Ward, of Riverton; children Brandon and his wife Megan of Riverton, Preston Ward of Salt Lake City, and Tristan and her husband Ryan Sheets of Casper; grandchildren Gracilynn, Colten, Gabrielle, Elakay and George; father Neil "Mac" McMillan of Las Vegas; mother Shirley McMillan of Riverton; sister Nicol Skiles of Omaha, Neb.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Gertrude McMillan and Eugene and Helen Ahlbrandt.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School or to an organization of the donor's choosing in care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main St., Riverton, WY 82501.
