Viola M. Hill

Viola M. Hill died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at MorningStar Assisted Living Facility in Colorado Springs, Colo. She was 97 years old.

Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 22, at St. James Episcopal Church followed by interment at Mountain View Cemetery.

Viola Mildred Hill was born Jan. 7, 1917, in Fort Rice, N.D., the daughter of George and Helen (Koch) Ward.

She graduated from Johnson County High School in 1933 and from Parks Business College in Denver in 1934.

On Sept. 4, 1938, she married James "Jim" Hill in Buffalo.

Her family said she enjoyed volunteering at Riverton Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Martin, and her husband, Tom, of Colorado; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Ralph Hill; and brother Harold Ward.
