Mellencamp to play at CFD
CHEYENNE -- John Mellencamp will play at Cheyenne Frontier Days for the first time this summer.
Organizers announced Monday that Mellencamp will open the rodeo's night shows on July 18 as they revealed the rest of the headliners for the concert series.
Gary Allan and Florida Georgia Line will play, joining previously announced acts including Tim McGraw, Lady Antebellum and Kid Rock.
Tickets go on sale Friday.
Snow record set
CHEYENNE -- The latest round of snowfall in Cheyenne has set a new record.
The National Weather Service says the city got 4.9 inches of snow on Tuesday, breaking the previous record of 4.8 inches for that day set in 1962.
Cheyenne is one city in the midst of one of its top 10 harshest winters according to a winter extremity index created by the National Weather Service.
Casper teacher pleads guilty
CASPER -- A Casper math teacher who admitted to having sex with a teen has pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of a minor.
Tyler Jeffrey Russell pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse in the third degree Tuesday. He originally was charged with sexual abuse in the second degree.
Russell was 24 at the time of the abuse and working at Centennial Junior High School.
