Even before it's built, new school to have a principal

Active planning for the new elementary school in Riverton begins Tuesday, March 4, including naming a principal for the school before construction even begins.

So far, three staff members within the district have expressed interest in being principal at the new school, School District 25 superintendent Terry Snyder said. Choosing soon will invite the principal's input early in the process.

"I feel very pleased that we have some very great options," Snyder said.

The selected administrator would have more than two years to transition into the position. Snyder and assistant superintendent JoAnne Flanagan have been conducting interviews already.

"A big part of what this administrator needs to do is to become a leader of that building," the superintendent said.
