Mar 4, 2014 - StaffJohn Joseph Cardine Sr., of Lander, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014. He was 62 years old.
A memorial service will be scheduled in the summer.
John Joseph Cardine Sr. was born Oct. 10, 1951, in Laramie, the son of Joseph and Janice Cardine.
He attended Dean Morgan Junior High and Natrona Country High School.
He worked for many years at Marathon Oil and Albertsons in Casper and later worked for several years at Peaches restaurant.
He lived briefly at the Showboat retirement home in Lander, and his family said he enjoyed riding his bike around town, shopping and volunteering at the Lander Pet Connection.
He later lived at the Poplar Living Center where he enjoyed the various activities (especially bingo), and attended all parties and Sunday services. He helped out with the garden and assisted the staff in any way he could. He built a special relationship with one of the other residents, Opal. His family said he was a very friendly, gregarious person and had friends all over Casper. They said he wished anyone he met to "Have a good one."
He is survived by his son, John Joseph Cardine Jr., and his wife Jamie; granddaughter Allyson of Lander; sisters Susan Cardine of La Quinta, Calif., and Lisa Ragsdale and her husband John; and niece Sydney of Kansas City, Kan.
