Jazz Night III is 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre at Central Wyoming College. Event is free.
Gardening and Backyard Living Expo is from 8 a.m. to noon at the Lander Community Center, 950 Buena Vista Drive, Lander. The Expo will feature two main venues: vendor booths and educational breakout sessions. Vendor booths will display the latest and greatest offerings of information and items that will help folks enjoy their gardens and backyards. Eight workshops will promote conservation. The workshops will begin each hour and run for roughly 45 minutes. Younger attendees can participate in the "Kids Corner." Rocky Mountain Rebels will display their classic cars, hot rods and stunning new cars. There will be a drawing for a ball and burlap tree for those who attend.
NOLS Yard Sale is 8 a.m. to noon at NOLS, 502 Lincoln St., Lander.
Basic Horsemanship is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Central Wyoming College Equine Center, Riverton. Basic horsemanship is geared toward beginning and intermediate riders, providing an introduction to riding with leg and body aides. Don Harrington covers proper reining techniques and students will learn exercise skills that increase the flexibility in their horses. Participants are asked to bring their horses (and rope). 2012 Fremont County Democratic Party Convention is 11 a.m. in the Fremont County Circuit Court Room at the Fremont County Courthouse Building, 450 N. Second St., Lander. In Riverton police reports from Thursday to Friday morning:
- James Large, 24, of Riverton, was arrested for probation violation.
- Aaron Bigknife, 18, of Fort Washakie, was arrested for shoplifting and interference.
- RPD Capt. Eric Murphy released more information about the condition of the 5-year-old boy who was involved in Tuesday afternoon's bicycle-versus-semi-tractor-trailer.
"The boy suffered a broken arm, fractured cheek and eye socket, bruised lungs, broken ribs, lacerated spleen and several cuts," Murphy said.
The boy was taken by air ambulance to Salt Lake City, Utah, for his injuries.
Police responded to the crash at about 3:39 p.m. on April 10 at 430 East Monroe Ave. and South Fifth East Street.
Murphy said the boy was traveling southbound on South Fifth East Street on his bicycle and racing a friend who was also on a bicycle.
"The boy was unable to break and hit the right rear tire of a semi-truck that was traveling west on East Monroe," he said.
The crash is being investigated by the RPD.
In Fremont County Sheriff's reports from Thursday to Friday morning:
- Ashlee Bojaj, 27, of Lander, was arrested for bond revocation.
- During the same time period, ambulance crews responded to 12 calls for service and firefighters were dispatched three times.
