Mar 10, 2014 - From staff reportsLaw enforcement, firefighters, school, emergency management and health officials and volunteers will gather Friday through Sunday in Riverton to attend crisis planning and response courses.
The Respond Wyoming event is intended to prepare first responders for incidents that may happen in the future.
The keynote speaker will be Lt. Paul Vance, the Connecticut State Police public information officer.
Vance will discuss the events of the Dec. 14, 2012, Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and the aftermath of handling hundreds of media representatives in Newtown, Conn., that day and in the weeks and months that followed.
The presentation will be at 7:15 p.m. Friday at the Holiday Inn in Riverton.
