Mar 13, 2014 - StaffMarla Thuringer, of Riverton, died peacefully Monday, March 10, 2014, after a brief stay at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation-Wind River. She was 73 years old.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 14, at Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Jorgenson officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Marla D. Hedglin was born Nov. 19, 1940, in San Diego, the daughter of Bert and Beula (Coker) Hedlgin. As a child, she moved around the state of Wyoming with her family (her father was a construction worker). Her family said she loved her home state of Wyoming.
On April 10, 1961, she married Jim Thuringer in Cheyenne. They had five children.
Her family said she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was also a beautiful seamstress, an avid reader and an active gardener. Above all else, she loved and devoted herself to her family.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jim Thuringer; children Tammy (Paul) Jensen of Evanston, Crystal (Dale Bryan) Tintinger of Spearfish, S.D., Tasha (Jerry ) Roberts of Mifflinburg, Pa., Kim (Dave) Toews of Billings, Mont., and Steve Thuringer of Carlin, N.V.; brother Gerald Hedglin of Douglas; grandchildren Brandi Waheed, Kyle, Derrick, and JD Thuringer, Ryan and Kristi Hensley, Dan and Nick Tintinger, Emily Bryan, Marlee and Romi Roberts and Zachary Toews; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, two brothers and one grandson.
