Mar 13, 2014 - StaffBarbara Jane Parker died after a brief illness Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Lander Regional Hospital with family at her side. She was 90 years old.
A family graveside service will be Monday, March 17, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander.
Barbara Jane Parker was born April 13, 1923, the daughter of Verna and Dewey Hornecker in Lander.
On Sept. 29, 1946, she married Richard Robert Parker in Worland.
When she was younger she worked at the family store, and later, after her children left home, she went to work at McRae's Drug Store in Lander. She lived most of her life in Lander and graduated from Fremont County Vocational High School.
Her family said she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and working her crosswords and word search puzzles. She also loved her dog and playing cards and games with her friends and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Tom Parker and his wife Linda of Casper, Dick Parker of Lander, and Verna Parker; grandchildren Jerrod Parker and his wife Mandy of Casper, Ryan Parker of Casper, Shawn Parker and his wife Stephanie of New Mexico, Bradi Huelle and her husband Matthew of Lander and Preston Parker of Lander; and great-grandchildren Eric and Connor Parker of New Mexico and Madisyn, Jason and Parker Huelle of Lander.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brothers and sisters-in-law.
