The real point of a 'wellness program' is to stay healthy

Apr 7, 2014 - James J. Brieling, Lander

Editor:

It has been interesting to read about Fremont County and its "wellness plan" for county workers that can be used to help keep their health insurance costs down.

If you pass some physical tests, then you don't have to pay as much for health insurance.

People griped about it, of course, but I think it is a good idea that could be used by everyone else. The thing to remember is, that a wellness program is not just something your boss orders you to do so that you don't have to pay a higher health care premium.

If you stay healthy, you won't need to use so much health care at all. That is the real benefit. Stay as healthy as you can, my friends.
