Apr 9, 2014 - StaffIleen Frye died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in Casper. She was 91 years old.
Services were Thursday, April 4, in Lusk. Burial took place at the Douglas Cemetery.
Ileen Frye was born Nov. 12, 1922, at the family homestead north of Lost Springs, the daughter of Lee and Florence Wright. She was the fourth of seven children.
On May 15, 1940, she married Willard Frye in Harrison, Neb. They lived in Wyoming and Idaho before he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1942. They lived in Texas, Maryland and Florida while he was in the Army.
After he was discharged, the couple lived in Nebraska before moving to Casper in 1946. They lived in Orpha, and in the 1950s, they moved to Douglas. In 1967 they relocated to Lusk where Mrs. Frye lived until 2009 when she moved to the Shepherd of the Valley Healthcare Center in Casper.
In 2003, she was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Lusk, and she joined the Lusk Elks Lodge in 2006.
She is survived by her sons, Darrell and his wife Barbara of Lusk and Earl and his wife Sue of Riverton, seven grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard; parents; son Jim; brothers George and Wilbur Wright; sisters Geneva Murphy, Jeanette Pebbles, Ruey Wright and Lilian Wright; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
