Jaime Padron, 40, died Friday, April 6, while on duty as an officer for the Austin (Texas) Police Department. He was related to Jerry and Faye Cox, Betty Cox and Eric, and Elana Cox of Riverton. Funeral services, with honors, were Wednesday, April 11, at Shoreline Church in Austin. His body was then taken to San Angelo, Texas, for a rosary and funeral mass. U.S. Marine Corps honors followed in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo.

In Riverton police reports from Tuesday to Wednesday morning:
- Eldon Antelope, 47, of Riverton, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.
- Dallas Dresser, 24, of Riverton, was arrested for public intoxication.
- Jesse Bell, 27, of Riverton, was arrested for battery (domestic violence) and on a warrant for contempt of court.
- Jason Bell, 33, of Riverton, was arrested on a warrant for contempt of court.
- The Riverton Police Department is partnering with Smith's Food and Drug Center for the National Drug Take Back on Saturday, April 28.
RPD Capt. Eric Murphy said his agency will have an officer in the grocery store's parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. accepting any old or outdate prescription medications.

In Fremont County Sheriff's reports from Tuesday to Wednesday morning:
- Leon Tillman, 45, of Fort Washakie, was arrested for attempting to elude, driving under the influence and interference with police.
- During the same time period, ambulance crews responded to nine calls for assistance and firefighters responded to none.
