Apr 11, 2014 - From staff reportsThe state taxidermy show returns to Fremont County on Saturday.
The event, sponsored by the Wyoming Association of Taxidermy Artists, is 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Headwaters Arts and Conference Center, 20 Stalnaker St., Dubois. The show is open to the public.
Taxidermists from Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Colorado and Nebraska will bring their best work for judges' critiques and public display.
WATA also will host a Hunter Education Field Day for those who have completed the course on the Wyoming Game and Fish website. The field day is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Anyone wanting to attend the field day needs to sign up on the Wyoming Game and Fish website before the event begins.
The Mission of The Wyoming Association of Taxidermy Artist, a non-profit organization, is to help increase public awareness of quality taxidermy, raise the standards of taxidermy through annual competition, increase the knowledge of its members through educational seminars and form a camaraderie between taxidermists statewide.
