Apr 11, 2014 - By Craig Blumenshine, Staff WriterThe LadyR00;Wolverines now play in a two-day tournament Friday and Saturday in Worland.
The Green River Lady Wolves created breakaway after breakaway and dominated the Riverton Lady Wolverines girls soccer team 6-1 Thursday afternoon in Green River.
Riverton (1-5, 1-3 Class 4-A West) will travel to Worland Friday and Saturday to play in a tournament with Class 3-A teams Worland, Cody, Douglas, Jackson, Lander, Pinedale, Newcastle, Powell and Star Valley, along with Class 4-A squads Evanston, Green River and Cheyenne South.
"We did not play as well as we played Tuesday night. It was 4-1 at halftime and we adjusted our formation and did better in the second half. We could see them (Green River) again this weekend," RHS head coach Tanya Santee said.
Taylor Paskett-Krause scored Riverton's only goal in the 34th minute with an assist from Natalie Lymburner that made the score 2-1 at the time. Green River added two more goals before the halftime break.
"Rachel Graham had several shots on frame, but their goalie made saves," Santee said. "We'll regroup and play better this weekend. Green River has played enough soccer and are more ball aware."
