Apr 14, 2014 - From staff reportsTree and shrub transplanting permits are now available for purchase at Shoshone National Forest district offices.
Transplant permits are $5 for one tree or shrub up to 8 feet in height. There is a minimum purchase of four permits and a maximum of 15 transplant permits per household per calendar year.
Permits must be obtained before heading to the forest. A transplant permit guide -- which includes rules, closed areas and transplanting tips --Q94; will be distributed with the permits at the time of purchase. This guide also will list which species of trees and shrubs are available for transplanting.
Permits may be purchased from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the offices in Lander and Dubois.
