Apr 16, 2014 - StaffJulia May Ramsey died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at home in the arms of her husband after a brave battle with multiple illnesses. She was 74 years old.
A visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Hudson's Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
Julia (Judy) May Ramsey was born Dec. 28, 1939, in Naper, Neb., the daughter of Laura Owens and Helmoth Bucholz.
She married Ross DuVal Ramsey, and they had three children: Walter Ross Ramsey, Valorie Lynn (John) Ratliff and Patricia Lynn (Eric) Granlund.
Her family said she treasured the time she and her husband spent doing missionary work at Six Crossing and Martin's Cove, and she donated her time to the Auxiliary at Lander Regional Hospital.
Her family said she enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting and her calling as a temple missionary in Utah and Montana. They said her heart was most alive when she was surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Ross; children Patty, Valorie and Walter; sisters Ellen Sparks, Karen O'Brien and Sharon Brooks; grandchildren Trina Slinkard, Jason Ramsey, Jeremy Ramsey, Stephanie Ratliff, Jessica Hill and Taylor Hill; great-grandchildren Ayden Ramsey, Amelia Ramsey, Hannah Ramsey, Kendall Kramer, Justice Kramer and Alexia Kramer; family members Chuck and Gina Story and Gail and Janet Folston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Shirley Holt; brother Robert Owens; and sisters-in-law Patricia Wilson and Coleen Story.
Donations may be made to the Auxiliary at Lander Regional Hospital, 1320 Bishop Randall Drive, Lander, WY.
