Wyoming Artists Association to host conference in Dubois

The annual convention of the Wyoming Artists Association will by May 2 to May 4 at the Headwaters Conference and Art Center in Dubois. The theme of this year's event is "Come Fly With Me."

The weekend is packed with activities, including a quick draw, breakfast buffets,workshops, luncheon and business meetings, a costume banquet, and an awards presentation.

The winner of this year's "Grand Wyoming Artist" title also will be revealed.

The workshop instructors are Bill Sawczuk of Jackson, oil; Jerry Antolik of Hudson, drawing; and Judy Gonet Jones of Jackson, watercolor.

Art show categories include oil, acrylic, watercolor, graphics, pastel, sculpture, pottery, miniature, theme and "other."

One piece of art from the show will be picked to hang for one year in the governor's office in Cheyenne, and three pieces will be selected to hang for a year in Wyoming's congressional offices in Washington, D.C.
