Hill's victory gives 'glimmer of hope' against 'unruly few'
Apr 24, 2014 - Carole J. Boyd, Dubois
Something happened last week that resulted in a huge win for the citizens of Wyoming. The lower court acted on the Wyoming Supreme Court's decision that rendered Gov. Mead's elimination of an elected position unconstitutional.
The blatant attempt by the governor and a few of our elected officials to wipe out a position in our state government, just to politically execute someone who was trying to do the job we elected her to do, appears to have finally been the straw that caused justice to rise to the occasion.
I hope the voters of Wyoming will remember each and every legislator who ran panting down the path of political suicide after their power-crazed leader with pitchforks and lanterns in hand, to take hostage our right to elect who governs and works for us.
One woman who had the audacity to put children first when it came to education, who made cost-cutting decisions for the people, that upset business as usual in Cheyenne, and who refused to knuckle under to the repeated lies, undocumented slander and character assassination, has won her battle. She fought hard for what was right and won.
The good old boys in Wyoming showed their avarice, and she fought with her own money, and a fiercely loyal team, for her principles, her job and most of all for voters rights to elect. Take the time to thank her and those who stood with her. She refused to give up, disappear and let evil win, and we all benefited greatly from her resolve. This is the kind of leadership we need, the kind that lets us take care of our families' needs while the elected officials work for us, not against us.
We, the people of Wyoming, keep shouting we want someone who has the courage, strength and principles to rise up and be elected. Well, here she is, people. If you don't know her, go hear her speak, let her show you with documentation what is going on in the halls and closets of the statehouse. She can back up every issue she talks about, and will answer with incredible honesty any question you ask. We Americans, who want our country back, must back candidates who, with our help, can take it back.
For those districts that elected the legislators who followed like lemmings behind a governor who acted only on his own ego and agenda, remember how much time and tax money they spent in pursuit of a vicious endeavor that was baseless and unconstitutional, for the sole purpose of destroying our rights and the reputation and career of one woman.
Those same lemmings now claim to have been misled. Do we want leaders who are so easily misled, who appear to lack even a moral compass?
The action of our courts gives us a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, Wyoming and all of America has had enough of attempted rule by the unruly few.
