Burnett third in Casper rodeo; still has event lead for season

A string of barrel racing victories came to an end for Central Wyoming College cowgirl Kaylee Burnett on Sunday when she finished third at the Casper College rodeo.

Burnett completed her two-ride time in 31.40 seconds.

In the regional standings, however, Burnett remains first with 900 points.

Gillette's Krisiti Steffes is second (755 points) and Tally Roepke stands third (715). The top three in each event qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo.

In the women's team standings at Casper, CWC placed sixth with 90 points. Chadron State College took the title with 318.33 points.

The CWC men placed eighth with 110 points.

Krassin wins all-around

Former Lander high school standout Riley Krassin won the men's all-around title in his home rodeo.

Krassin is a Casper College cowboy.

Krassin scored 270 points in the three-day rodeo,, placing second in both tie-down roping and steer wrestling.

Krassin had a time of 19.1 seconds in tie-down roping. He finished in the runner-up position with a time of 10.1 seconds in steer wrestling.

CWC's Trevor Scantling was third (10.9 seconds).
